“Motion and emotion are… intrinsically connected: one is moved by movement (perception; impression; affection) and moved to move (action; expression; e-motion).” T. Fuchs & S. Koch About the WorkshopAuthentic Movement is a practice that seeks to give place to spontaneous movement, contemplative observation without judgment and embodied presence. We offer these sessions for those who have no experience with this type of work or for those who have had some experiences and want to deepen in their practice. How a session worksWe will start with a warm-up welcome body awareness and to have it available for the practice of Authentic Movement. The practice is simple: a person closes her eyes by directing attention to her interior, waits, listens and moves, following her impulses in the presence of a witness who is in an attitude of contemplation. The mover brings her attention to the sensations and seeks to listen and observe the emergence of impulses. The witness brings his attention to the mover and at the same time seeks to be relaxed, present; he sees the other and observes himself, his thoughts and his inner impulses. The experience of the person who moves can be felt very condensed, like a dream. Thus, we will work with writing as a way to anchor what has been experienced. We will also work with the plastic expression as a way of transitioning from movement towards verbal expression. Then, in a verbal exchange, the witness will help those who have moved to rebuild the experience. "... Being seen inevitably precedes seeing yourself," said Janet Adler. Authentic Movement benefits
